Our December update includes the Breach Challenge Leagues, dozens of latest items, and lots of other improvements like a replacement DirectX 11, 64-bit renderer!

Challenge Leagues offer both a clean slate during a new economy and a twist on Path of Exile gameplay with new risks and rewards. The Breach league features 40 challeng0es and three exclusive new microtransactions you'll earn as you complete them.

Enter The Breach

Tears within the fabric of reality have formed throughout Wraeclast. Engage them to show an alternate realm and reveal those that dwell there. Slay monsters inside the Breach to stay it open long enough to reap your bounty.

Challenge the Breachlords

Deep within the Breach, you'll draw the ire of horrific new bosses: Breachlords. The more damage you inflict on them, the more treasure they'll spare during their escape.

Conquer a Breachlord's Domain

Among the riches found within the Breach, you'll also encounter Splinters. Combine 100 Splinters of an equivalent type together to make a Breachstone. When placed within the Map Device, a Breachstone allows travel into a Breachlord's Domain, the one place where they're truly vulnerable.

Treasures of the Breach

Monsters from the Breach drop new unique items that are specific to their Domain. When slain in their Domain, Breachlords are ready to drop Blessings that allow these new uniques to be upgraded.

Performance Improvements

Content Update 2.5.0 includes the discharge of our new 64-bit Path of Exile Currency client that uses DirectX 11. it is a lot faster than the previous version and includes technical improvements like new fog and cloth physics systems.

Alongside the Breach league and therefore the new renderer, this update also includes many other changes like piles of latest Unique items, a replacement Channelling Support Gem, Unique Golem Jewels, a revamped Forsaken Master levelling experience (with many usability improvements) and graphical improvements to early Act One areas.

Breach Supporter Packs

To celebrate the Breach league, we're launching two new Supporter Packs. These exist alongside our current Atlas of Worlds Supporter Packs and have points, forum titles, portrait frames, a weapon effect, a portal effect and a completely new sort of microtransaction: Cloaks.
